liv with the baby chick - so cute!  Posted by Picasa

these deer in the contact area were amazing - right up until they started eating stuff out of my bag - like my zoo map. buggars. it was so nice to be able to sit with them though. i kept coming back to this deer. Posted by Picasa

afro chickens! these were the craziest things ever! Posted by Picasa

liz with a baby chick, only a couple of days old. how gorgeous! Posted by Picasa

an orangutan. unfortunately this is a bit blurry because it's being seen through glass. they don't let you get up very close to these beautiful creatures (which is probably a good thing, really) Posted by Picasa

more meercats (fighting as they dug a hole, for no apparent reason) Posted by Picasa

meercats! Posted by Picasa

the flamingo - unreal version - yes, we photoshopped it to look like this, but isn't it cool? Posted by Picasa

right, now onto the important stuff - the zoo! we went to adelaide zoo and had a wild time taking pics of everything. these are a few we liked.  Posted by Picasa

another shot we never put here previously. this was taken just before the anzac day march in adelaide - i love seeing the men all dressed up with their medals. this was the only time my dad and grandpa have been able to march together (or at least ride in the back of a truck together) so it was a bit of a special occasion.  Posted by Picasa

this is an old pic we never put here - this is liv with her mum in adelaide at anzac day. one of the cuter pics of the two of us. we had a lot of fun that weekend. see you soon, mum Posted by Picasa

kelly and pat with liz - pat gives amazing hugs! Posted by Picasa

an example of the cute coffees Posted by Picasa

liv's cousin teegan, and liz's boss kelly. they're both going to kick our arses when they find out that we've put this pic on here. when we were leaving, kelly packed the car with so much food, and kept trying to give us more! we'll miss you guys - and we'll tell everyone we know to visit port pirie just so they can say hi and drink your cute coffees Posted by Picasa

liz with odie, one of the chefs from riva. she's such a cutie.  Posted by Picasa

thanks to julie for this cute pic - nice work Posted by Picasa

kirsten, the craziest admin officer ever!  Posted by Picasa

liv and liz with liv's workmates from CRS Australia Port Pirie. oh, and liv's cousin julie. these are the amazing people who bought liv that delicious pendant.  Posted by Picasa

liv's work colleagues chipped together and bought her this incredible pendant. there's 2 types of pearl, moonstone and amethyst, set in silver. bloody good going away present! it's not a great photo, but the colours of the pendant looked most accurate in this one. Posted by Picasa

we really love these signs - they're everywhere in adelaide, graphically picturing someone picking up dog poo in a really odd position. liz was doing her best to demonstrate the action required. Posted by Picasa

there's a new vietnam memorial in adelaide at this parade ground thing in the city, and dad's name is on a sponsors plaque there, so we stopped to take a few pics.  Posted by Picasa

another shot of our cutie della. this was taken just before we left pirie. note grandpa's orchids in the background of the cafe. we miss you already, della! Posted by Picasa

aflah and liv in adelaide. wala had just played a gig at a school, and liz and liv were dancing up the back, and laughing at the kids heckling. our favourite part was in question time when a little girl stood up and said "why do have to hit those things so loud? you're hurting my ears!" recovering

it takes a long time to post 20 photos when you're chatting on msn (to 2 people, and struggling not to get them confused) and chatting on myspace, and checking out that apparently we're famous, and have been mentioned on kate miller-heidke's fan forum. i think we should have our own fan forum.

anyway, check the pics below - we had a wonderful weekend with kate's band, as always, and as a special treat leanne, her manager, who we both adore, came with them this time. we've also fallen in love with kate's new back up singer sallie, but more on that another time.

right now, we're still recovering.

how the hell do they do that night after night, and not just collapse? it can't be that liz and i are old, because we're still younger than half the band. dammit, we're clearly out of practice.

we've had our last full day together with grandpa, and we've realised that the goodbyes have started. the last week in any place is difficult, because no matter how much we're looking forward to what's coming, there are always people we won't be seeing again, or at least not for a very long time, and there's always so many "last times" - you know, last coffee at one of the two decent local cafes, last gym class, last yoga class, last day with grandpa, etc. it's a bit of an emotional overload, especially after just having seen our brisbane friends, and heading on to see our african friends, and melbourne friends, and knowing that home is so close.

oh, and the last library books, which i have to remember to return.

i'm guessing, yet again, this is going to be a rough week - particularly as we have to find a way to motivate ourselves to pack everything again, and be ruthless about the charity pile - which is double the size so far of the melbourne charity pile, so i'm quite pleased with that.

ok, my eyes are going square after so many hours sitting here, so i'm off to read about and procrastinate about packing.

hope all our beautiful friends in cyber land are having a wonderful day, and see you all soon.

liz looking very sexy smoking shisha. it's just flavoured tobacco, mum, don't freak out and think she's drugged - although she looks it in this shot! Posted by Picasa

and again, with julie. well, we were on a photo taking roll... Posted by Picasa
