why oh why do we do these things to ourselves?

i'm exhausted. i'm guessing liz is too - we've both been out every day and night for ages, working and doing merch at gigs and hanging with friends and lots of groovy stuff.

this afternoon, i'm heading home to grab my ridiculous pile of dirty clothes (it's been raining and stuff) and heading to the laundromat to try and clean something before heading to adelaide for the weekend to hang with my family. should be lots of fun - mum and i are planning to ditch dad and grandpa and have groovy girly time together.

i've written more blogs, but as yet haven't had time to really post them, so they're still coming. we've nearly got the phone on, so expect pictures ahoy soon.

oh, kate, if you're reading this, yes, your comment did show up!

thieving little kate has stolen photos from our site, and put them on her own myspace site (how dare she!) so if you're feeling bored, and want to see the same photos again, go to her myspace site. while you're there, check transport and emma dean and all those other people we keep raving about.

anyway, must go continue finding jobs for people, but hopefully we'll hear from you all soon.

love, hope, and deep fried onion rings,

liv

Nova Cinema

28 March 2006 8:20am

Liz and I went to the Nova cinema last night (half price movies monday) and before getting onto the movie etc, may i recommend the choc tops - in flavours such as tiramisu, cinnamon, cherry ripe, baileys, and strawberry yoghurt. truly excellent choc tops.

we saw manual of love, which was great. i normally hate love stories, but this one was up there with amelie.

there was one thing in particular that made the night interesting (mum will love this). someone sitting near us was farting the whole way through the film. 15 times. i counted. i couldn't help myself - it was just so enthralling. and the stink! you couldn't hear the farts, but my God you could smell them. it was like something had died. like someone in the cinema was spraying eau du dead thing periodically, just to see the reaction.

Hoorah for boots

27 March 2006 8:21am

Allow me to rant for a moment. (that would be different to any other day, because...?)

On Saturday I set myself the mission: find the perfect pair of boots. Finally, around 5pm, after going to almost every shoe shop in Melbourne City, i found them. brown, knee high, gorgeous heel, with a buckle around the ankle, and actually fit! the fact that they were the cheapest shoes i tried on was a nice bonus.

now that the important stuff has been discussed, i can mention the fact that liz, our flatmate nat and i spent yesterday at Melbourne Zoo, which was very cool. i've decided when i have my own home, i'm getting meerkats. i've completely fallen in love with them. the variety of animals was great - i loved the big cats, althoughwe were running out of time when we reached them so we had to do a little extreme big cat sight seeing.

liz starts another job today (that's 3 for her right now...) so we celebrated both of us actually having money and getting paid by going to the white lotus for dinner. i've been hearing about this place for ages, and believe me the hype is totally justified. it's a vegan chinese restaurant that makes food that looks and tastes just like meat. liz got really excited about it too because the food was so good. it's definitely going to be my new takeaway, although i was a little freaked out because liz was raving about how accurate it all was, and other than the fish, i didn't recognise the taste. it's 11 years in may since i ate meat, so i guess i really have forgotten it.

Why won't you let me sleep?

24 March 2006 8:13am

Day 5 of full-time work. sittting at the train station with an Errol's coffee.

Last night Mum and Dad went to see Kate and Em play in Bangalow. i consequently got no sleep because they called me to tell me how amazing it was (to which i said "yes, i know") and how much they loved everyone (Em was lovely, Scotty gave me 2 hugs!...)

then, just as i finally fell asleep again mid morning, i got a text from scotty denying he was flirting with Mum, and saying they were both bloody legends, to which i said "yes, i know".

anyway, much as it is gratifying that my friends like my family, the most important thing about the evening was the fact that i got NO BLOODY SLEEP AT ALL, YOU BASTARDS! If this is the result of my parents going to gigs, they're banned for the forseeable future.
