Liv is a yarn artist living in Brisbane, Australia. The unexpected teapot is an extension of the obsession with all things tea developed through designing tea cosies for Jane's Sunday Best with business partner (and mother) Jan. Liv is pioneering the art of "tea-potting" by sharing her teapot designs with the surprised (and sometimes baffled) public.
Wow! I have just finished catching up with your blog after a month or so out of the loop. I love it, it's so much fun and so heartfelt! It reminds me a lot of the time I spent overseas travelling with one of my best friends... we, too, managed to avoid killing one another but living in one another's pockets (we even shared a bed for the majority of our three months together!) certainly put us to the test! I totally empathise with you, Liv, when you say you have a real need for solitary time and space. I'm particulary averse to the company of others first thing in the morning.... unless, of course, it's the company of one particulary fine specimen of male naked beside me mmm mmm.... if only such dreams would come true, alas....
Like I said last time I posted, I am so impressed with your photos! I can't wait to see ALL of them (seriously!) when I come down to Melbourne to visit! Once again, I think my own travelling experience has given me an appreciation of others', including the volumes of photos that bore most audiences to death!
Yet your skilled artistry doesn't stop at photography... your drawings are gorgeous! Maybe if I'm super lucky, when I come to Melbourne, you can draw a manga fairy portrait of me!
In one of your earlier entries Liv was talking about the disappointment she experiences as a result of her own unrealistic expectations of others. Liv, I know exactly where you are coming from, I find myself in this situation all the time! And if you think about it, perhaps you will see that you also place unfair expectations on yourself which inevitably lead to the most debilitating disappointment of all! (That realisation only just occured to me but surely it is true?!) And so I think the lesson to be learned is to abandon expectations altogether... kinda like when you don't expect any birthday presents but still receive them! Of course, this is MUCH easier said than done but hey, we can @ least try!
I racked my brain trying to recall whether or not I have ever fallen in love with anyone @ first sight/meeting. Pause. I am still racking my brain... sigh. I think I am too wary of others for instant trust like love @ first sight to occur. Which makes me sound like a very cold person which perhaps I am @ first! I'd say the closest I have ever come would be the first time I saw Kate @ school and somehow knew that I wanted to friends with her even tho we hadn't met and even tho I didn't much like her best friend or the people she hung out with. And even tho she had KORN scrawled all over her pencil case! Can u imagine?!!! Perhaps I thort she was a bit of a misfit like me.
Anyway, that's definitely enuf crap from me, sorry girls!
Oh! When do u plan to leave Melbourne, exactly? I'm thinking of coming down towards the end of May. I'd like to go see a friendly soccer game between Australia and Greece (warm up for the world cup) some time around the 25th. And are you interested in coming to see The Lion King?!!!
can't wait to come down!!!! And to read ur ongoing blog til then!!!
